River Cruising is back and better than ever after COVID!

River Cruising Back and Better after covid

River Cruising is Back after COVID

As we see more and more people, communities and companies learning how to best live with and prosper with the ongoing COVID global pandemic, we have seen a milestone reached as river cruising has restarted on most of the rivers of the world!  From the Amazon to the Douro; the Amazon to the Mekong; and many rivers in between – river cruise ships that have been shuttered for up to 18 months or longer are now welcoming guests onboard and setting sail to ply the rivers of the world.

With demand continuing to gain traction, cruise lines are carefully adding more and more ships to their operations.  This is fantastic news not just for us river cruisers, but it is even better news for the hard working women and men that have dedicated their careers to river cruising and making it the safe, efficient and enjoyable method of vacationing we have all learned to love.

Many countless hours have been spent over the last year or longer to determine the very best processes and procedures to ensure river cruise guests health and safety.  With this in mind – each cruise line has established their own COVID or Health Protocols for guests to follow when traveling.  With the advent of the ability to get vaccinated and with many destinations requiring vaccines, many cruises find themselves to be only available to those vaccinated.  Others require negative test results, coupled with onboard protocols like social distancing, mask wearing and cleanliness procedures.  But with all the work that has gone into these procedures – river cruise travelers can feel confident in their safety and health as they sail the waters of the world’s rivers.

Not all ships or cruise lines are up and running – and space is very limited on existing river cruise itineraries, so all cruise lines suggest deciding on your plans now for what is anticipated to be a busy 2022 spring, summer, and fall seasons.  Updates from some of the most popular river cruise lines in Europe tell of a busy Christmas Markets and Holiday cruise season – with most trips nearing capacity.  Their 2022 Christmas Markets and Holiday cruises are booking up fast, as a result – as we all start to look forward to river cruising again.

Here at River Cruise Your Way, we are specially positioned to work directly with all the river cruise lines around the world – and will work hard for you to make your river cruise vacation dreams a reality once again!
